Newt, metro rider

My colleague Dave Levinthal has details on an email CBS Outdoor sent to prospective clients, featuring none other than Newt Gingrich in a DC metro station:

"Please see attached photo of Newt Gingrich taken today. He's just one regular guy out of 825,000, that use the Metro Rail daily," Nancy Fisher, a CBS Outdoor sales executive, emailed to prospective clients.

The attached picture shows Gingrich, the former Republican presidential candidate and House speaker, strolling by row of a D.C. Metro fare-card machines.

Behind him is a colorful advertisement for the Panera Bread location at the Ballston Common Mall in suburban Virginia, a "roasted turkey harvest salad" prominently displayed.

And here's a flashback to Newt the GOP primary:

Those who, you know, live in high-rise apartment buildings writing for fancy newspapers in the middle of town after they ride the metro, who don't understand that for most Americans the ability to buy a home, to have their own property, to have a sense of belonging is one of the greatest achievements of their life, and it makes them feel like they are good solid citizens."
