might not be your go-to glossy for fashion coverage, but the women's magazine, known for its delicious recipes and insights into home organizing, is putting its fashionable foot forward with its first clothing and accessory collaboration.

For its official foray into fashion retail, Real Simple has decided to partner with Cuyana, a San Francisco-based apparel brand with a minimalist aesthetic that perfectly aligns with the publication's mission.

"With [Real Simple's] 'life made easier' philosophy and our 'fewer, better things' model, the collaboration was a dream," Shilpa Shah, co-founder of Cuyana, told The Huffington Post.

It was Shah, along with her business partner Karla Gallardo, who reached out to Real Simple to pitch the partnership. "We thought it was a really interesting way for them to get into fashion and for us to spread our message," Shah explained.

The Cuyana for Real Simple collection, which launches Thursday, includes two effortless shift dresses made in ponte and silk that can easily be jazzed up; a sleek leather tote bag that can be worn day or night; gold- and rose gold-plated bar earrings and a matching necklace for a touch of glitz; and a striped silk scarf that comes in three colorways for both fashion and function.

While Real Simple has already co-branded products and partnerships with Bed Bath & Beyond and Finestationery.com, managing editor Kristin van Ogtrop said that readers have shown an increasing interest in the magazine's fashion coverage.

"When we met Cuyana, it seemed like the first time we found a partner in this world whose philosophy towards dressing and editing choice really fit our editorial philosophy," van Ogtrop told The Huffington Post. "Their whole thing is quality over quantity at a price point that's not crazy. And I think you can say that about Real Simple too."

Retail prices for the line range from $60 for a pair of earrings to $325 for the leather carryall. Not too shabby.
