Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) took an early lead in his closely watched primary election on Tuesday, one of the national tea party movement's final chances this year to unseat a Republican senator.
Initial returns showed Roberts leading radiologist Milton Wolf by a single-digit margin. Wolf ran as a combative conservative newcomer who fashioned himself as an ideological twin of Sen.
