Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Industrial Products and Construction sectors led shares lower. At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI fell 0.10%. The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT), which rose 2.26% or 0.34 points to trade at 15.38 at the close. Meanwhile, DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) added 1.32% or 0.07 points to end at 5.38 and Sime Darby Bhd (KL:SIME) was up 0.47% or 0.04 points to 8.48 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC), which fell 1.99% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.39 at the close. Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (KL:PCGB) declined 1.71% or 0.11 points to end at 6.33 and Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR) was down 1.30% or 0.04 points to 3.03. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 293 to 290 and 42 ended unchanged. Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.36% or 0.17 to $48.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.62% or 0.34 to hit $54.93 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.03% or 11.30 to trade at $1082.80 a troy ounce. SGD/MYR was down 0.27% to 2.7819, while USD/MYR fell 0.05% to 3.8165. The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 97.57.
