The great Mexican painter is the subject of one of three new works choreographed by women for She Said at Sadler’s Wells. Its creators explain their impressionistic approach to the artist’s pain and passion
It came as a shocking realisation to Tamara Rojo that, during her long career as a ballerina, she’d never once performed in a work created by a woman. Even in the 21st century, most of the world’s ballet repertory is choreographed by men. Now that Rojo is artistic director of English National Ballet, she’s determined to change the landscape.
