Christina El Moussa, the star of Flip or Flop, took to Instagram to dispel a rumor that she is fuming over Joanna Gaines, the former host of Fixer Upper, getting a better TV deal. Joanna Gaines, along with her husband Chip, hosted Fixer Upper on HGTV for years. The pair hailing from Waco, Texas help clients realize the potential of a house that needs a little love to be inhabitable. El Moussa found her way to television fame on the same channel. Along with now ex-husband Tarek, Christina finds homes that can be purchased and renovated for a profit. The show follows the duo from the purchasing process, through renovation, and eventually the sale of the house.
Who is Christina El Moussa?
Christina El Moussa is a television personality heavily featured on HGTV. El Moussa, born Christina Haack, was raised in California and attended school in the state. She quickly got into real estate where she met her ex-husband Tarek. Tarek and Christina founded a real estate company together but were hit with financial disaster when the housing market crashed in 2008.
The pair began flipping houses in Southern California, an area with one of the largest foreclosure rates in the country at the time. Together, in 2011, they filmed an audition tape for HGTV that showed the process of flipping a house, from start to finish. The show was picked up and premiered in 2013.
In 2017 Christina filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair both allege that stress and a demanding schedule led to the breakdown of their marriage. They took some time off from their show, but are now appearing again, together on Flip or Flop. Recently it was announced that Christina would begin appearing on her own spin-off series Christina on the Coast. The spin-off will feature Christina renovating her new home first, then helping couples see the design potential in their tired residences.
El Moussa has been dating British television presenter, Ant Anstead. It is not known whether or not Anstead will be featured in Christina’s new show. Ex-husband Tarek has not been linked to any one romantic interest but is back on the dating scene. The former pair continues to co-parent and work together on their business ventures.
Where did the rumor of a supposed feud with Joanna Gaines come from?
In Touch Weekly published a story that suggested El Moussa was jealous of the Gaines family and their success. According to the article, El Moussa feels outshined by Joanna Gaines and the expansive fanbase she has amassed in her time as a television host. The story was published on the heels of big news from the Gaines’ camp. Joanna and Chip appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in early November to promote their newest book but also dropped the news that the pair will be partnering with Discovery to create an entirely new television network.
According to the article, Christina feels as though Joanna’s announcement was too closely tied to the news of her new spin-off, and she feels as though she is being purposefully outdone by the Texas-based designer. Christina, however, insists this is not true, and that she wholeheartedly supports Joanna and her new venture.

What a load of Bullshit. I’ve never commented on a tabloid EVER (and have swallowed a load of shit from these tabloids). #intouchmagazine this is disgusting. I have always been a huge supporter of female entrepreneurs… #girlboss is my motto. Nothing but respect for @joannagaines #goodvibesonly
In her Instagram post, Christina featured the In Touch Weekly cover that declared war between the television hosts. Her caption called out the magazine for what she calls “bull.” Christina went on to let her followers know that there is no bad blood between the designers and that she has always supported female entrepreneurs. She hashtagged her post with #girlboss, to get the point across. Joanna Gaines has not commented on the article or Christina’s rebuttal.Read the original article from The Cheat Sheet
