UK-based contractor Amec Foster Wheeler said October 3 it has been awarded a consultancy contract by Japan’s Inpex, for the Ichthys LNG project offshore northern Australia.Amec will provide a team of production and maintenance assessors to carry out competency assessments for the Ichthys operations and maintenance teams across all project assets. This includes the central processing facility, the floating production vessel (FPSO), and Bladin Point LNG two-train onshore processing plant near Darwin. Assessments will be aligned to Australian national competency standards for the process industry.Inpex operates Ichthys. Partners include Total, along with five Japanese firms Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Chubu Electric, Toho Gas, Kansai Electric and Taiwan’s CPC.
