By Brad Thomas:Last week, I wrote an article in Investopedia about Health Care REITs, and specifically, the supply and demand attributes that make the sector attractive. I explained: One way to think about supply is to consider the amount of inventory that's available for rent. When there is a reduced amount of inventory and a growing demand for renters seeking that inventory, conditions become most attractive. In order to take advantage of the cyclical nature of the housing sector, investors must understand the driving forces - the levers - that control these two primary forces. These favorable long-term health care trends, namely demand, are at an all-time high, as the 75-and-older population is growing six times faster than the rest of the population, and is expected to increase by 89% by 2030 (compared to 2012).
