Химические компании Lanxess и Chemtura объединяются

В понедельник немецкий химический концерн Lanxess сообщил о своем намерении приобрести американскую химическую компанию Chemtura. Сумма сделки может составить $2,7 млрд. Ожидается, что Lanxess заплатит за каждую акцию Chemtura $33,5, то есть премия в сравнении со стоимостью акций компании в прошлую пятницу составит около 19%. Советы директоров обеих компаний уже одобрили сделку, она может завершиться к середине следующего года. Компания Lanxess образовалась в 2004 году после выделения из состава корпорации ее химического подразделения. Основные производимые компанией продукты — различные каучуки и полимеры. С приобретением Chemtura Lanxess надеется укрепить свои позиции на американском рынке. Приобретение Chemtura станет крупнейшей сделкой в истории немецкой компании. Акции Lanxess выросли в понедельник на 7,7%.

Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.85%

Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Food&Beverages and Technology sectors led shares lower. At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.85%, while the MDAX index lost 1.01%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.88%. The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (XETRA:HEIG), which rose 0.76% or 0.500 points to trade at 66.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG) added 0.04% or 0.005 points to end at 11.770 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:VOWG_p) was up 0.03% or 0.050 points to 167.950 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn), which fell 4.36% or 0.389 points to trade at 8.543 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) declined 3.37% or 0.420 points to end at 12.060 and Lanxess AG (XETRA:LXSG) was down 2.21% or 1.015 points to 44.920. The top performers on the MDAX were STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N.
