В Китае будет построен ещё один завод для выпуска чипов

На прошлой неделе в Китае прошла церемония старта строительства первого в этой стране завода компании TSMC, способного обрабатывать кремниевые подложки диаметром 300-мм. Интерес контрактного производителя к Китаю подогревается взрослением местной полупроводниковой отрасли, которой нужны всё более передовые решения. Второй по величине после TSMC контрактный производитель чипов — тайваньская компания United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) — тоже желает построить в Китае ещё одно своё производство. Стоит отметить, что UMC уже располагает в Китае заводом по обработке 300-мм пластин. Сообщается, что новое предприятие сможет ежемесячно обрабатывать до 60 тыс. пластин с чипами — это втрое больше, чем позволит себе новый китайский завод TSMC.

TSMC приступила к строительству в Китае передового завода

В четверг в окрестностях китайского города Нанкин руководство тайваньской компании TSMC торжественно открыло строительство нового полупроводникового завода, ориентированного на обработку кремниевых пластин диаметром 300 мм. Это третья по счёту в Китае 300-мм фабрика тайваньских производителей. Две других принадлежат компаниям United Microelectronics Corp и Powerchip Technology. До этого TSMC владела на территории Китая одним заводом, обрабатывающим 200-мм пластины. Переход на пластины диаметром 300 мм увеличит выход микросхем с каждой пластины минимум на 30 % в зависимости от задействованного техпроцесса. Первый 300-мм завод TSMC в Китае заработает осенью 2018 года. Удивляет, что TSMC впервые за всю историю непростых взаимоотношений Тайваня и Китая переведёт на материк новейший из существующих техпроцессов — с нормами 16 нм. До этого тайваньским компаниям было запрещено создавать на материковой части Китая самые современные производства, чтобы не создавать конкуренции самым передовым в регионе тайваньским полупроводниковым заводам. Некоторым утешением для Тайваня может считаться то, что к моменту ввода китайского предприятия в строй на Тайване компания TSMC приступит к выпуску 7-нм чипов.
